Gorgias AI Agent Pricing at 500, 2,000 and 5,000 Tickets a Month: What a Shopify Store Really Pays

A Shopify store on Gorgias pays two bills: a helpdesk plan based on ticket volume, plus a fee for each AI interaction beyond the included quota. Every AI interaction also counts as a helpdesk ticket. In the example below, where the AI handles 40% of tickets, the annual-contract total comes to about $283 at 500 tickets a month, about $849 at 2,000 and about $2,073 at 5,000. The 40% share is an assumption for illustration, not a benchmark.

The sections below show the math so you can swap in your own numbers. Prices were read on the Gorgias public pricing page on 3 October 2026. Check them again before you buy, because plans change.

How Gorgias bills: the two meters

Gorgias has two separate charges.

  • The helpdesk plan. You pay a monthly fee that includes a set number of billable tickets. Past that, each extra ticket has its own price.
  • The AI Agent. Each plan includes a small number of AI interactions. After that, you pay per interaction: $0.90 on an annual contract or $1.00 on a monthly one.

The detail that surprises people is on the pricing page itself: each automated interaction also counts as one helpdesk ticket. An AI-handled conversation can therefore use up ticket quota and also trigger the per-interaction fee. There is one exception. If a human agent replies within 72 hours of an AI resolution, that interaction is charged only as a helpdesk ticket.

The published plans used in this article

Annual-contract prices, as listed:

  • Basic: $50 per month, 300 included tickets, $0.40 per extra ticket, 30 included AI interactions.
  • Pro: $300 per month, 2,000 included tickets, $0.36 per extra ticket, 190 included AI interactions.
  • Advanced: $750 per month, 5,000 included tickets, $0.36 per extra ticket, 530 included AI interactions.

Monthly contracts list higher plan prices: $60 for Basic, $360 for Pro and $900 for Advanced. The AI fee is $1.00 per interaction instead of $0.90.

The assumption behind the numbers

We need to assume how many tickets the AI handles, and that figure depends on your store. Your questions, your policies and how much the AI is allowed to do all change it. For comparison we use a single hypothetical: the AI resolves 40% of your tickets. It is a round number chosen for the math, not a promise or a market statistic. We also count the AI-handled conversations inside your total ticket volume, because they count as tickets. All figures use annual-contract rates.

Cost at 500 tickets a month

  • Plan: Basic at $50 covers 300 tickets. The other 200 tickets are billed at $0.40, which is $80. Helpdesk subtotal: $130.
  • AI: 40% of 500 is 200 interactions. The plan includes 30, so 170 are billed at $0.90, which is $153.
  • Total: about $283 a month, or about $0.57 per ticket.

Without the AI add-on, the same store pays $130.

Cost at 2,000 tickets a month

  • Plan: Pro at $300 covers all 2,000 tickets.
  • AI: 40% of 2,000 is 800 interactions. The plan includes 190, so 610 are billed at $0.90, which is $549.
  • Total: about $849 a month, or about $0.42 per ticket.

Without the AI add-on, the bill is $300.

Cost at 5,000 tickets a month

  • Plan: Advanced at $750 covers all 5,000 tickets.
  • AI: 40% of 5,000 is 2,000 interactions. The plan includes 530, so 1,470 are billed at $0.90, which is $1,323.
  • Total: about $2,073 a month, or about $0.41 per ticket.

Without the AI add-on, the bill is $750.

Summary

  • 500 tickets a month: helpdesk $130, 200 AI interactions, 170 billed, AI fee $153, estimated total about $283.
  • 2,000 tickets a month: helpdesk $300, 800 AI interactions, 610 billed, AI fee $549, estimated total about $849.
  • 5,000 tickets a month: helpdesk $750, 2,000 AI interactions, 1,470 billed, AI fee $1,323, estimated total about $2,073.

What can move your bill

  • The share the AI handles. The AI fee is the biggest variable. At 5,000 tickets, every 100 extra billed interactions add $90 on an annual contract.
  • Monthly or annual contract. The monthly AI rate is $1.00 and the plan prices are higher.
  • Human follow-ups. The 72-hour rule can lower the charge on some interactions. It only applies when a human replies after the AI.
  • Tickets that never needed support. Helpdesk quotas count tickets of all kinds, including the ones that never needed a human.
  • Seasonal peaks. A busy Black Friday week can push you past your included tickets and into per-ticket overage.

A good habit is to take your last three months of ticket counts, find your peak month, and run the formula on that month, not the average.

The formula to run on your own store

  • Pick your plan from your monthly ticket count. Add overage for tickets above the quota.
  • Estimate how many of those tickets the AI would handle.
  • Subtract the AI interactions included in your plan.
  • Multiply the rest by $0.90 (annual) or $1.00 (monthly).
  • Add steps 1 and 4, then divide by your ticket count to get cost per ticket.

Where a different pricing model changes the math

Pricing in this category is built on different units. Some tools charge per ticket, some per agent seat and some per AI resolution. Each model has a different cost curve as you grow. Relay is built around one idea: an employee for your support desk, not another tool to manage. It has a ticket center, and the AI reads the request, finds the order, applies your store rules and acts within the permissions you give it. That can mean a refund, a promo code, a cancellation or an address change. Billing is a monthly subscription by tier of ticket volume. Annual billing gives two months free, and the trial lasts 14 days. A ticket the AI resolves is billed once, so there is no second charge stacked on top.

If you are comparing tools, make the same exercise with every quote. Use your real peak month, and count the cost of the AI and the desk together.

FAQ

How much does Gorgias AI Agent cost per resolution? On the public pricing page it is $0.90 per interaction on an annual contract and $1.00 on a monthly contract, after the interactions included in your plan. Each of these interactions also counts as a helpdesk ticket.

Do AI interactions count toward my Gorgias ticket limit? Yes. Gorgias states that each automated interaction also counts as one helpdesk ticket. If a human replies within 72 hours of an AI resolution, it is charged only as a ticket.

Which Gorgias plan fits 2,000 tickets a month? Pro includes 2,000 tickets at $300 a month on an annual contract, or $360 on a monthly one. It also includes 190 AI interactions. Anything beyond that is billed per interaction.

Is the 40% AI share a realistic figure? It is an assumption chosen to make the math readable, not a measured result. Your own share depends on your products, your policies and what you let the AI do. Run the formula with several values, such as lower and higher shares, to see the range.
